Vendor Course Instruction (VCI) is the use of extracurricular activities to supplement and enrich core curriculum content. A Vendor Course Instructor is an individual or a company that contracts with Gorman Learning Center (GLC) to provide services such as tutoring, science labs, and performing arts classes.
There is a dollar amount designated for each student that participates in the program. The funding allocated per student must purchase all needed curriculum for the entire school year prior to being used for VCI expenditures.
With reservations, additional VCI funding is available to students not attending Learning Centers. The additional VCI funding is determined at the outset of every semester and may be increased or decreased each semester based on school funding and the number of reservations.
Since each semester has a separate budget, any first semester budget surplus cannot carry over to the second semester. First semester students requesting additional VCI funding and who do not utilize the funding within that semester will not lose that funding, but they may not be considered for the second semester allotment.
